A mysterious dream made President of the United States Mr. Barack Obama really anxious as he directed diplomatic channels in the white house to confirm if Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi would indeed be present with him during the republic day parade on 26th January.
This has come days after the White House confirmed that Mr. Obama has accepted PM Modi’s invitation to attend the republic day of India as a chief guest.
“Mr. President had a really strange dream last night and he suddenly woke up chanting ‘Modi Modi Modi’, he dreamt that Mr. Modi was addressing the Indian community in Russia who were insanely chanting Modi’s name. This made Mr. President uncomfortable and he directed diplomatic channels in the white house to confirm if Mr. Modi will be present on the Republic day or will he be on a foreign tour,” said, John Earnest, White House Press Secretary.
In the mean while the news reached PM Modi who took the whole episode sportingly and called Mr. Obama to clear his doubts and console him.
“Mr. Modi did call President Obama and assured him that he will be present with him on the Republic Day parade. However, Mr. Modi conveyed that he will be going to Russia in the first week of February so Mr. Obama’s dream was not really untrue but just a little untimely,” said, Syed Akbaruddin, Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs.
In the end both the heads of state laughed the matter out and looked forward to a hearty bonding at the Republic Day celebrations on 26th January.
